Tunnel Signs x OAD

Tunnel Signs X One A Day Mix by Tunnel Signs

Tunnel Signs, the nom de plume of Ash Moses, has been our go-to techno man for as long as we’ve known how to stagger into the early hours of Saturday morning. In fact, he was the very first DJ we snuck out to see in Sydney before we were of age, so safe to say we’ve been following his progress closely for many years. Today Ash is spreading his love of real, beautiful techno music across the underground, via a variety of mediums, all of which try to bring a bit of Berlin back to the East Coast. You can bust out at one of Motorik’s amazing late night parties or get your mitts on juicy new releases from his Death Strobe Records label. When he’s not throwing together sexy mixes like this, Moses also does some pretty sweet graphic design for record sleeves and events which you can check out here. Essentially, Ash is pretty much the best-value guy on the planet, and we’re honoured to have him behind the decks for us this week. You really don’t get sent mixes of this quality every day.

Here’s Ash’s hot picks from his hour of power.

One Dance Floor (Rio Lobotomy Remix) – Cosmonaut
Two of my favourite groups from this little island we call home united for one gloriously tripped out slice of dubby weirdness. Keep an eye on both parties concerned. It’s like one big happy family up in here!

All Saints Day (Alternate Version) – Severed Heads
Another amazing Australian group fronted by Tom Ellard who were ridiculously ahead of the game for their time. They are probably best known for their track ‘Dead Eyes Opened’ which I first heard in an Ivan Smagghe mix years ago, but I’m a huge fan of this tune with its lush synths and emotional pads. Ellard taught my game design class once at COFA…I asked some stupid question about synthesizers. It was pretty awkward.

See Blind Through (Mic Newman Remix) – Canyons.
Well I might as well go for the Aussie trifecta. The Canyons are amazing producers, DJs and run a great label called Hole in the Sky. From weird psych noise to acid house these guys do it all. They introduced us to Tame Impala and put out the first homegrown DFA 12″ with Fire Eyes – tune….their latest single doesn’t disappoint either and Melbournite Mic Newman does all kinds of things for the dancefloor with this deep cut.
